D.C. Open Government Coalition holds organizational meeting

More than 30 representatives of civic, public interest, media, and non-governmental organizations met June 23 to begin the process of organizing the D.C Open Government Coalition. They discussed the Coalition's mission, focus and potential projects aimed at providing the public greater access to government information and meetings.

The Coalition recently incorporated and established itself as a tax-exempt organization in the District. The National Freedom of Information Coalition provided a $10,000 grant to help launch the Coalition.
